2022
DROPS 2 development started
After a careful evaluation of the existing open source publication server software,
Dagstuhl Publishing decides to start implementing its own platform, drops-core
.
Based on experience with the evaluated products, the focus is placed on...
- a simple technology stack based on common standards
- simple expandability of the metadata schema
- simple customization options for the browse and detail views.

Metadata extraction from LaTeX
Dagstuhl Publishing starts extracting detailed metadata directly from the LaTeX files. Besides the DUBLIN CORE metadata collected before, this includes, detailed author metadata (affiliations, ORCID, email, website url), funding information, ACM subject classifications, related versions (e.g., full versions on arXiv or HAL), and supplementary materials.
Since the schema of the old DROPS does not support all the collected metadata, the metadata export temporarily moves to the Dagstuhl Submission server in 2019.
2004
DROPS released
The first version of DROPS, based on the OPUS repository software, goes online.
