Abstract
This report of the Dagstuhl Seminar "From Psychology Enabled Visualization to Visualization Enabled Psychology" (25511) advances Visualization Psychology as an emerging interdisciplinary field that integrates behavioral science with visualization research and practice, while also positioning visualization as a powerful environment for studying cognition in action. Organized around six complementary themes - foundational theory-building, learning and friction, decision-making, storytelling, perceptual effects, and human - AI interaction - the report outlines key challenges and opportunities for understanding visualization as a human-centered process. We propose a research agenda that emphasizes integrative theory, systematic empirical methods, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Altogether, we bridge psychology-enabled visualization with visualization-enabled psychology, to establish Visualization Psychology as a cohesive field and to support the design of more effective, inclusive, and human-centered visualization systems.
