A Zone-Based Algorithm for Timed Parity Games

Abstract
This paper revisits timed games by building upon the semantics introduced in "The Element of Surprise in Timed Games" [Luca de Alfaro et al., 2003]. We introduce some modifications to this semantics for two primary reasons: firstly, we recognize instances where the original semantics appears counterintuitive in the context of controller synthesis; secondly, we present methods to develop efficient zone-based algorithms. Our algorithm successfully addresses timed parity games, and we have implemented it using UPPAAL’s zone library. This prototype effectively demonstrates the feasibility of a zone-based algorithm for parity objectives and a rich semantics for timed interactions between the players.

Advancing Intelligent Personal Assistants for Human Spaceflight

Abstract
The Artemis program and upcoming missions to Mars mark a new era of human space exploration that will require new tools to support astronaut autonomy in the absence of real-time communication with Earth. This paper investigates the role of voice-based intelligent personal assistants (IPAs) in future crewed space missions. Through semi-structured interviews with astronauts (n=3) and spaceflight experts (n=12), we identify key user-centered design requirements for IPAs in this uniquely constrained and safety-critical environment. Our thematic analysis reveals core requirements for flexibility, reliability, offline capability, and multimodal interaction. Drawing on these findings, we outline design guidelines for next-generation IPAs and discuss how technologies such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), knowledge graphs, and augmented reality should be combined to support flexible, reliable, and multimodal IPAs for future human spaceflight missions.

Undecidability of Two-dimensional Robot Games

Abstract
Robot game is a two-player vector addition game played on the integer lattice Z^n. Both players have sets of vectors and in each turn the vector chosen by a player is added to the current configuration vector of the game. One of the players, called Eve, tries to play the game from the initial configuration to the origin while the other player, Adam, tries to avoid the origin. The problem is to decide whether or not Eve has a winning strategy. In this paper we prove undecidability of the robot game in dimension two answering the question formulated by Doyen and Rabinovich in 2011 and closing the gap between undecidable and decidable cases.
