Automated mathematics: integrating proofs, algorithms and data (Dagstuhl Seminar 23401)

Abstract
This report documents the program and the outcomes of Dagstuhl Seminar 23401 "Automated mathematics: integrating proofs, algorithms and data". The seminar brought together system developers, library authors, and users from key branches of computer-supported mathematics: formalized mathematics, symbolic computation, and mathematical databases. We addressed issues that were common to all areas of computer-supported mathematics: library management, dependencies and interoperability between software components, quality and correctness assurances, searching for information, and usability by end users. Early on in the week, we formed working groups that worked on specific tasks, as described in this report. Each day was divided into a morning talk session and an afternoon period devoted to working in groups. To keep everyone well-informed, we gathered each day before dinner for an informal "show & tell" session.

Making Isabelle Content Accessible in Knowledge Representation Formats

Abstract
The libraries of proof assistants like Isabelle, Coq, HOL are notoriously difficult to interpret by external tools: de facto, only the prover itself can parse and process them adequately. In the case of Isabelle, an export of the library into a FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) knowledge exchange format was already envisioned by the authors in 1999 but had previously proved too difficult. After substantial improvements of the Isabelle Prover IDE (PIDE) and the OMDoc/Mmt format since then, we are now able to deliver such an export. Concretely we present an integration of PIDE and Mmt that allows exporting all Isabelle libraries in OMDoc format. Our export covers the full Isabelle distribution and the Archive of Formal Proofs (AFP) - more than 12 thousand theories and locales resulting in over 65 GB of OMDoc/XML. Such a systematic export of Isabelle content to a well-defined interchange format like OMDoc enables many applications such as dependency management, independent proof checking, or library search.

Universality of Proofs (Dagstuhl Seminar 16421)

Abstract
This report documents the program and the outcomes of Dagstuhl Seminar 16421 "Universality of Proofs" which took place October 16-21, 2016. The seminar was motivated by the fact that it is nowadays difficult to exchange proofs from one proof assistant to another one. Thus a formal proof cannot be considered as a universal proof, reusable in different contexts. The seminar aims at providing a comprehensive overview of the existing techniques for interoperability and going further into the development of a common objective and framework for proof developments that support the communication, reuse and interoperability of proofs. The seminar included participants coming from different fields of computer science such as logic, proof engineering, program verification, formal mathematics. It included overview talks, technical talks and breakout sessions. This report collects the abstracts of talks and summarizes the outcomes of the breakout sessions.
